Hello! Today, I'm going to show you five ways to recycle tin cans for organizing or design your room. You will learn how to make a tin can stacked organizer, a tin can lantern, a tin can trash can, and two pencil can ideas.
All of these DIY ideas are great ways to recycle tin cans instead of throwing them away.
DIY Tin Can Stacked Organizer
You will need
three tin cans
glue gun
scissors
scrapbook paper or cardstock paper
ruler
pencil
First you want to take your ruler, paper, and a pencil. You want to measure how tall the tin can is. Then you can measure how tall the can is on to the paper and cut out a 12 inch strip out.
Take the glue gun and glue a line of glue on to the tin can.
Place the edge of one side of the paper on to the glue and wrap the paper around the can.
Then glue the other side of the paper on top of the other side of paper that was glued first. You can cut off any extra paper that didn't get glued on with scissors.
Do this to the rest of the tin cans.
Glue the two cans that will be on the bottom and glue them together. Glue the last tin can on top of the bottom ones.
You can either have this organizer standing up or on its side.
DIY Tin Can Lantern
You will need
tin can
towel
nail
a hammer
paint
paintbrush
permanent marker
a fake candle
water
and a freezer
For a design draw some dots on to the tin can with the permanent marker. The permanent marker will come off.
Then, take the nail and place it on to one of the dots you made. Take the hammer and hit the nail a couple of times until you get a hole. Be very careful the nail will move because the tin can is slippery.
When your done with putting holes in the can, run the can under warm water to melt the ice. Dry off the water with a towel
Paint the tin can any color you would like. You can go back and poke a nail into the holes again if the holes get covered with paint
Put a fake candle inside the can.
DIY Tin Can Trash Can
You will need
a tin can
glue gun
scissors
scrapbook paper and cardstock paper
ruler
pencil
You do the same thing that was done to the stacked organizer. You measure how tall the can is and cut out a strip of paper. Glue the strip of paper to the tin can.
Cut out a rectangle and write a word on it. I wrote the word trash on mine.
Then, I used scissors that made a zig zag shape and created a border around the rectangle.
Glue the rectangle on to the front of the tin can.
DIY Tin Can Pencil Holder
You will need
a tin can
glue gun
scissors
scrapbook paper and cardstock paper
ruler
pencil
Cut out a rectangle and write a word on it. I wrote the word pencils on mine. I also used zig zag scissors on this to. Glue the rectangle on to the front of the tin can.
DIY Tin Can Pencil Holder #2
Another design for this tin can is that you can paint it with more than one coat and place a piece of colored tape like washi tape on to the can and write any word that you like on to the tape.
That's it for all of these DIY's! In the comments down below let me know what you think about these DIY's.
