Hello! Today, I'm going to be showing you how I made these two miniature canvas paintings and both of them are easy to make. You get to learn how to make a jellyfish and a planet painting.
You can watch the video below or you can continue reading.
Jellyfish Painting
The first canvas painting I'm going to show you how to make is this jellyfish painting.
1. Paint the top half of the canvas a light blue and make sure you paint the sides of the canvas.
2. When you're done painting the top half of the canvas, you want to start blending a darker blue in the middle of the canvas with a light blue.
3. Paint the rest of the canvas with the darker blue and wait for the paint to dry before going onto the next step.
4. When the paint is completely dry, you want to draw the top of the jellyfish with a pencil.
5. Paint the top of the jellyfish in.
6. Take a thin paintbrush and paint wavy lines coming from the top of the jellyfish.
7. Take a dotting tool or a pencil and make dots around the jellyfish to make bubbles. Don't over do it because there will be too many bubbles.
8. Outline the top of the jellyfish and then you can add some more lines so it's not a flat jellyfish and you can do this before you make the bubbles. I decided to outline the top of the jellyfish after making the bubbles because I was having difficulty painting the 3D looking jellyfish.
When you're done painting, you're all done.
Planet Painting
The last canvas painting I'm going to show you how to make is this planet painting.
1. Trace a circular object and this will be for your planet. I traced a lid.
2. Paint your planet any color that you want. You can even paint stripes on it. I painted mine blue and later I painted white stripes.
3. Paint the rest of the canvas black and wait for the paint to dry before going onto the step.
4. Draw a ring around the planet with a pencil.
5. Paint the ring any color that you want. I painted mine gold. When I was done painting the ring, I painted white stripes on the planet.
6. When you're done painting the planet you want to wait for the paint to dry before you go onto to the next step.
7. Lay some scrap paper underneath of your painting.
8. Water down some white acrylic paint and flick the bristles with your finger to create stars. Don't over do it because it will be to much.
When you're done creating the stars, you're all done with your painting.
That's how you make both of these paintings. I absolutely love how both of them came out.
Which one of these paintings is your favorite? My favorite is the jellyfish painting.
